Yummy White Bean Soup with a Greek Accent

Rob and I went to ¡Salud!,a charity wine auction,in Portland on Saturday night. It’s one of our favorites, mostly because we believe so strongly in the cause but also because, coming so closely on the heels of harvest as it does every year, it’s also nice to have a reason to get dressed up and […]

Oatmeal Pumpkin Spiced Chocolate Chip Cookies

We’ve been having this epic weather here in Western Oregon. I think I heard it’s been more than 80 days since we’ve had rain. Which, for us, is more than a little weird. To me it’s felt like we’re in the Twilight Zone. To awaken every morning to sunny, clear skies and temps in the […]

Sunny Summer Quinoa Salad

Summertime in the wine business is busy. Busy in a way that is often gratifying and fun, but ultimately somewhat overwhelming. Who could complain about going to several 2-3 day food and wine events in a summer, every summer? Three days of eating multi-course meals prepared by famous chefs, drinking glass after glass of glorious wines, […]

I Blame the Gin and Tonics, or Why We Had Julia Child’s Cherry Clafouti for Breakfast

What’s a Tweet Up?

Twitter has been an enigma to me.  I know I’m supposed to know all things social media, but Twitter uses a different language. Not just shorthand (limit my thoughts to just 140 characters!?!) but it seems so foreign! The @ symbol and the #hashtag, retweeting and following. Oh my goodness, my head is full enough […]

Hello!

Hi, I'm Maria. My husband and I own a winery in downtown McMinnville, the heart of Oregon's spectacular Willamette Valley.

Lucky for me I get to cook for the people I love, throw parties and pour a little Pinot. Nothing makes me happier than gathering people around my table and serving them food that nourishes both body and soul.

People often tell me that I'm living their dream life. And truthfully, I'm living mine too.

But let's be real, it's still life.
