Behold the Artichoke

Artichokes. In all their mysterious, prickly splendor artichokes are a beautiful thing to behold and somewhat magical to eat, leaf by leaf. Having eaten artichokes for as long as I can remember, I am a bit surprised that some people are a little bit intimidated by them. Even a touch scared. I guess I shouldn’t be. […]

Green Soup – kind of like a smoothie, but better

I am not a huge fan of green smoothies. I know they’re all the rage with heath-concious people like myself. All of that raw green goodness is guaranteed to help you lose weight, have more energy, enjoy a better mood, have better sex and live forever. Wow! What’s not to like? Meh. I don’t know. […]

Simple, Perfect Roasted Chicken – Food Bloggers Against Hunger

1 in 5 children in this country are hungry. Half of the children in this country will be food insecure at some time in their lives. Hello!

Hi, I'm Maria. My husband and I own a winery in downtown McMinnville, the heart of Oregon's spectacular Willamette Valley.

Lucky for me I get to cook for the people I love, throw parties and pour a little Pinot. Nothing makes me happier than gathering people around my table and serving them food that nourishes both body and soul.

People often tell me that I'm living their dream life. And truthfully, I'm living mine too.

But let's be real, it's still life.
