I decided to sign up for an on-line challenge through BlogHer. It’s really just a way to give myself some structure, which seems like a good idea – now and always.
It’s called NaBloPoMo. The challenge is to post something on your blog every day for a month. That’s it. They’ve given a writing prompt, which you can use or not. The post can be short or long, serious or silly. The point is to get in the habit of writing daily, and that is something I want to work on. So. It’s the first of June, and here we go.
The prompt that NaBloPoMo put out to the world is to write about the word “Fan” – using any definition of the word you feel like. Since I have no other thoughts about which I’d like to write today, I will take their cue, and tell you a few things I am a fan of on a cool, rainy Wednesday.
1. Slipping back into bed once my family has all left the house in the morning and catching up on the phone with my sister in Chicago – and missing the kick boxing class at the gym because of it.
3. Mugs of green tea.
4. Walking to work in the rain, with a polka dot umbrella borrowed from a friend. (With apologies to Winnie-The- Pooh), “How can anyone be un-cheered with a polka dot umbrella?”
