Print Recipe Polpette do Tacchino (Turkey Meatballs) I’ve always made my meatballs with ground beef, but was inspired to try these after seeing a recipe from Mario Batali. And am I glad I did – what a hit! Everyone in our house loved them, including (especially) all of the teenagers who happened to be hanging […]

Pork Spareribs Braised in Red Wine

Print Recipe Pork Spareribs Braised in Red Wine I imagine if you had an Italian grandmother, this is the kind of food she made for her family. (Maybe I’m actually Italian and never knew it?) This is the kind of heartwarming, belly-filling food that everyone needs now and then. Serve this over a bed of […]

Spaghetti with Sage, Lemon and Hazelnuts

Print Recipe Spaghetti with Sage, Lemon and Hazelnuts I love this simple pasta dish. Sometimes, dinner calls for nothing more than this loveliness. Other times, you could serve it alongside roasted chicken for a heartier meal. Add more crushed red pepper flakes, as you like, but keep in mind that if it’s too spicy it […]

This version is simpler, though there are still quite a few steps, and benefits from the help of the slow cooker. Make it ahead […]

Hello!

Hi, I'm Maria. My husband and I own a winery in downtown McMinnville, the heart of Oregon's spectacular Willamette Valley.

Lucky for me I get to cook for the people I love, throw parties and pour a little Pinot. Nothing makes me happier than gathering people around my table and serving them food that nourishes both body and soul.

People often tell me that I'm living their dream life. And truthfully, I'm living mine too.

But let's be real, it's still life.
