Pasta with Parsley Pesto

June 2, 2018 Maria Stuart Leave a Comment

  Print Recipe Pasta with Parsley Pesto This pesto is divine! I love it tossed with pasta, drizzled over an avocado, slathered on a sandwich – well, just about anywhere. For pasta I choose a thin strand – spaghetti or angel hair. This is terrific as a starter or side dish. To make a more […]

Lost and Found, Café Azul’s Tinga Pie {Recipe}

  Cafe Azul. Just the name brings back such festive and delicious memories. Years ago, it must have been about 1996, two sisters named Shawna and Claire Archibald opened Cafe Azul in downtown McMinnville. Claire was the chef and Shawna ran the front of the house. Claire trained with Diana Kennedy, that legendary cookbook writer […]

Elegant Winter Comfort Food – Beef Stroganoff {Recipe}

As I sit here at my desk, sunshine is pouring through the window and warming my back. It feels lovely after getting up especially early this morning – it was so cold and dark. We’re having a pretty mild winter here in the Willamette Valley (sorry my midwest and east coast people), but let’s not […]

Love Thy Neighbor and Pakistani Slow-Cooked Lamb Stew {Recipe}

I’ll confess I’ve had trouble pulling myself away from the internet this past week. Every twist and turn of this crazy new political world compels me to keep going down the rabbit hole, keep clicking on the next headline. Good For The Soul Chicken Noodle Soup – To Cure What Ails Us {Recipe}

If there was ever a time for homemade chicken noodle soup, it is now: it’s cold out, two of my kids are sick with head colds – one of whom is on a tight deadline to finish his college applications, there are innocent people being brutally and violently attacked by law enforcement officials in North Dakota but they […]

Hello!

Hi, I'm Maria. My husband and I own a winery in downtown McMinnville, the heart of Oregon's spectacular Willamette Valley.

Lucky for me I get to cook for the people I love, throw parties and pour a little Pinot. Nothing makes me happier than gathering people around my table and serving them food that nourishes both body and soul.

People often tell me that I'm living their dream life. And truthfully, I'm living mine too.

But let's be real, it's still life.
